Course Overview

This seminar attempts to improve the understanding of Process Safety for all professionals in the chemical, manufacturing, oil and gas and other industries. It addresses all aspects of process safety, approaches of design, control and emergency responses and well as any hazard coming from mechanical, chemical, biological, electrical and other sources. Environmental effects are discussed and analyzed. Tools for assessing risks and approaches for minimizing risk and exposure are discussed in detailed. This seminar covers all information on general process safety and is not targeted towards a specific industry.

Risk management strategies in industrial environments
Understanding essential chemical devices (distillation columns, reactors, etc.)
Toxicology fundamentals relevant to process safety
Source models for hazard identification
Analysis of fires and explosions in process industries

Day 3: Prevention and Control of Hazards

Chemical safety and the prevention of fires and explosions through design
Controlling and minimizing static electricity in hazardous environments
Design and operation of relief and effluent disposal systems
Heat transfer and thermal insulation considerations for process safety
Training programs and performance assurance for safety compliance

Day 4: Operational Excellence and Emergency Management
