Course Overview

Process engineering is the most vital part of chemical engineering. It involves understanding,  setting up and controlling physical and chemical processes, troubleshooting and optimizing their outcomes and estimating all costs included in doing so. Process engineering has evolved to a modern field that include the traditional fields of chemical engineering with the addition of simulation tools [computational chemistry, CFD and process simulation]. This course includes all the important elements of process engineering and the most important modern approaches for optimization of processes.

Objective:

  • Develop both fundamental and practical understanding of central issues in processes used in oil, gas, petrochemical, chemical, and allied facilities.
  • Understand the fundamentals of process engineering thereby developing perspective and focus from a company viewpoint.
