Course Overview

Polymer Extrusion in one of the most important processes in the plastics/ polymers industry. Continuous improvements of the extrusion technologies allow for more efficient production of plastics and novel applications. Extrusion requires deep understanding of materials properties, hardware operation and process analysis. This course covers those fields along with other extrusion attributes such as control and troubleshooting.

Objective:

  • To understand extrusion fundamentals
  • To learn about extrusion machinery and devices
  • To understand the extrusion process and its sub processes
  • To learn about extrusion process design, operation and control
